Our Story

The husband and wife duo behind The Fishmonger's Son.

The Fishmonger’s Son is a tribute to renowned fishmonger, Konstantinos Yotis. For more than 40 years, Kon and his brother presided over a much-loved seafood stall at Footscray’s wholesale market.

Now, as a legacy to his late father, second generation fishmonger, Anthony Yotis and his partner Laura Di Florio Yotis are carrying on the tradition of selling top-quality, seasonal fish and seafood.

The Fishmonger’s Son is a haven for locals, foodies and seafood lovers thanks to a curated line-up of specialty, high-quality, and hard-to-find deli items that pair perfectly with the super fresh local fish and seafood. What's on offer changes from time to time but right now you'll find the likes of seafood meals, wine, pantry staples and artisanal condiments you're unlikely to spot anywhere else.

And the deliciousness doesn’t stop there. From Tuesday through to Saturday, freshly made prawn + cray rolls are available. You better get in quick though (or pre-order) — these often sold out by lunchtime.

We look forward to welcoming friends, both old and new, to our one-of-a-kind seafood-deli at the former Canals Seafood shop at 703 Nicholson Street, Carlton North.

The Fishmonger’s Son acknowledges the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation - the traditional custodians on the land upon which we work, live and play. We pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
