Our Story

Established in 2018, The Fishmonger’s Son is a haven for locals, foodies and seafood lovers thanks to a curated line-up of super fresh local fish, and high-quality specialty deli items that pair perfectly with seafood.

From Tuesday to Saturday, you will find freshly made prawn + cray rolls and expertly prepared sushi and sashimi. You better get in quick though (or pre-order) — these often sell out by lunchtime.

You'll find us at 781 Nicholson Street, Carlton North.

In July 2024 our debut cookbook, The Fishmonger's Son, was published by Pan Macmillan / Plum Books. You can buy it in store, at all good bookstores and from online booksellers. It is an invaluable collection of information, advice and recipes based on the most popular fish and shellfish to cook at home. It includes general cooking, storage and preparation tips, plus 70 delicious family recipes, from burgers, bao and tacos to pies, pasta and more.
