Our Story


 

Established in 2018, The Fishmonger’s Son is a haven for locals, foodies and seafood lovers thanks to a curated line-up of super fresh local fish, and high-quality and specialty deli items that pair perfectly with seafood. 

From Tuesday through to Saturday, you will find freshly made prawn + cray rolls and expertly prepared sushi and sashimi. You better get in quick though (or pre-order) — these often sell out by lunchtime.

 In September 2023 after 5 years, we relocated to a larger space just up the road. We are now located at 781 Nicholson Street, Carlton North.

 In July 2024 our debut cookbook, The Fishmonger's Son was published by Pan Macmillan / Plum Books. It is available to buy in all good bookstores and on online booksellers it it an invaluable collection of information, advice and recipes based on the most popular fish and shellfish to cook at home. It includes general cooking, storage and preparation tips, plus 70 delicious family recipes, from burgers, bao and tacos to pies, pasta and more.

We look forward to welcoming friends, both old and new, to our one-of-a-kind seafood-deli.
